Adam's Wheelchair Van

Adam was born with Cerebral palsy, epilepsy, blindness and holoprosencephaly.

He was not expected to make it his first 24 hours of life. It was like that at each milestone.. at 1, at 5 and now here we are at 9. He is non verbal,non mobile, totally dependent on us for his care.

The hospitals and doctors here are not equipped to care for Adam so we must travel more than 2 hours away to Dallas for doctor visits. This is several times a year (12+). Adam weighs nearly 70 lbs. now and his wheelchair 53 lbs.

My husband has CHF and chronic edema in his legs as well as elephantisis. So lifting Adam into and out of his wheelchair and carseat is really putting a strain on both of us.

He has nurses that help out but going anywhere as a family is hard.
