Kenny's Wheelchair Van

Kenny was born almost 13 years ago with a rare brain malformation called semi lobar holoprosencephaly. Most do not survive to birth and fewer beyond the first year of life. Every day is a Miracle.

We are the Hadley family. Darlene, Steven, Kenny (wheelchair), and Nate. Over the years Kenny has had 7 surgeries, 5 of which were to improve his quality of life and he will eventually need at least one more.

Kenny may be considered nonverbal and non-mobile, but he does not let it stop him from lighting up a room. Kenny loves to get out and go places. When he was younger this was much easier. As he gets bigger it is getting harder and harder to transport him around safely. An accessible van would allow us to more easily transport him to his appointments and to do the fun things he loves that are becoming more difficult. At his last appointment we were told he was no where done growing and was going to be a big guy, so transporting is going to get harder.

I am the only one working since my husband is also disabled. Trying to save is nearly impossible because everything goes to making ends meet. We are truly blessed by the miracles this group makes happen and could never express the gratitude we feel for each of you.

After your gift to Kenny, you can also make a contribution to the Liberty Memes Foundation Wheelchair Van fund, here.
