Iris' Wheelchair Van

Iris is a 6 year old girl who is diagnosed with Dravet Syndrome, an exceptionally rare de novo genetic muatation of the SCN1A gene.

Dravet syndrome causes uncontrollable seizures, mental delays, physical delays, and a host of other problems including inability to properly regulate and maintain core body temperature, especially in regard to heat.

Her seizures began when she was four months old with an 85 minute seizure. To date she has had an estimated 2,000 seizures as estimated by her neurology team. Over 200 of her seizures have been status. Her longest seizure was 6 hours long.

Iris’ favorite things are horses, Frozen, Moana, arts and crafts, and cooking.

We are humbly asking for an SUV which we would customize for Iris since we live in a rural area and the roads are often rough or even impassible due to flooding."
